Nonsuch radar mast mount photographs
These pictures show the installation of a radar mount installation on LIONHEART, a Nonsuch 30 #352.
The radar mounting bracket was manufactured specifically for a Nonsuch 30 mast by:

The mounting bracket was designed for a Raytheon 18" radome. It is made of anodized aluminum and consists of a horizontal platform, a support arm, and two support plates which are curved to the radius of the mast and welded to the platform and support arm. The support plates are held to the mast with four stainless steel adjustable bands, each slid through a length of clear vinyl tubing to protect the mast surface. The sail track was raised slightly in the vicinity of the radar mount to allow passage of the bands under the track.
The radar cable exit hole in the mast was made according to specifications from the Hinterhoeller factory. It is 1/2" wide and 2.5" long, with ends having a 1/4" radius. All edges have been carefully rounded and smoothed to avoid stress cracks. The factory recommended that the hole be located within 6" to 24" below the mast joint.
LIONHEART's owner, Bill Spencer, will be happy to answer any further questions about this installation. Send email to him at wjspencer@attglobal.net
