Georgian Bay Nonsuch Association - Rendezvous Update 2016

Sailing as some say is 99% boredom and 1 % terror . Well ,we experienced the 1 % on Friday evening as boats gathered for re activating of the Georgian Bay Association. At 7.30 a squall came through lasting 30 minutes . For myself it was the third squall in 16 years of sailing and the worst with intense wind , spray and  1/2 in hail. Ron and Dianne on Alphawaves dragged anchor and returned back to their marina and rejoined on Sunday those that were left . Because we were all pretty rattled none of us were up to sailing on Saturday and Sunday morning so we replaced time with on shore gatherings which was a chance to get reacquainted  with older association members and new. I think we can say with confidence that the GB association has renewed itself .

We were fortunate to have Bill and Lola Wheeler, past organizer for the association who lent their history and experience to our discussions .
Also participating was 94 year old Angus Robertson who single handedly sailed his 26 and manually dropped his anchor ! Angus kept us all entertained with ,his life experiences which he is currently writing . Thanks Angus .
